Ed, me, dad, and Jordan at the Sox game in Seattle, May 14 Posted by Hello

Johnny Is My Homeboy

No, not my cousin Johnny (who now calls himself John - whatever, dude!), or my friend Johnny Cock & Balls. (I don't even know why we started calling him Cock & Balls, other than it sounds funny). Those are a couple o' righteous dudes, but of course the title of this post refers to Johnny Damon. Last weekend, my dad (Franky Ballbags) and brother (Stupid Eddie) and myself went to all three Red Sox games at Mariners stadium. The Sawx lost 2 of 3 but we had great seats to all the games, we watched batting practice one day and saw Johnny D. and Big Papi put on a home run clinic, Bronson Arroyo signed my World Series commemorative Wheaties box, , and Manny Ramirez hit his 400th career 'tater.

Ed and I are going to Chicago to see the Red Sox play the Cubs at Wrigley. It'll be my first time in the Chi since leaving last summer. It'll be great to see some old friends. And as fate would have it, our great buddy Michael McDermott is singin' the Anthem that day. After the game, Michael, Ed and I will consume many Guinnesses and talk about everything under the sun. Which means the usual topics of girls and music. We're not the most well-rounded fellas in town.

Speaking of girls and music... if anyone sees the Boss walkin' down the street, tell that guy to book a Seattle show. He's basically playing every other corner of the world on this tour except the Pacific Northwest. That's the music part. Now the girl part.. Whoa Nelly, we got a dandy! Without dishing out details, I'll just say that things are going better, and this woman is more remarkable than I could have even come up with in a dream. At first I was worried because things are not supposed to go this well, you know, things only go wrong in my life, never right. And then I was thinking, "God dammit, I deserve this and so does she" (she too has had some bad luck in her personal life). But now I'm just hanging with it, enjoying every moment, and for a change, not overanalyzing.

Okay, that's it for this month. It's Sunday mornin'. You think this is all I got to do all day?
